Nuggets point guard listed as day-to-day
Billups out after aggravating sprained right wrist
DENVER, Dec. 14, 2010 – After playing with a partially torn ligament in his right shooting wrist for the past two weeks, Nuggets point guard Chauncey Billups will miss tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic.
Billups initially sprained the wrist Nov. 20 against New Jersey following a collision with Nets forward Stephen Graham. After sitting out two games, he returned Nov. 28 and scored a season-high 25 points against the Phoenix Suns.
The wrist was improving, but Billups aggravated the injury when he was hit during Denver’s victory in Toronto last Friday.
Billups was re-evaluated by team physician Dr. Steve Traina and hand specialist Dr. Thomas Mordick on Tuesday. He will continue to rehab the wrist, and his status is day-to-day.
Billups, a five-time All-Star, is averaging 14.4 points and a team-leading 5.4 assists in 21 games this season.
