Arroyo, Outlaw Participating in Basketball Without Borders - Americas

Orlando Magic players Carlos Arroyo and Bo Outlaw are among the NBA players serving as camp counselors this week at Basketball Without Borders - Americas, held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Arroyo and Outlaw are joined by NBA players Adonal Foyle, Gordan Giricek, Sean Marks, Delonte West and former NBA player Daniel Santiago.

"I feel honored about hosting Basketball without Borders 2006 in Puerto Rico," Arroyo said. "This is an extremely important event and it opens the doors for Puerto Rico as a destination for major sporting events like these.”

Fifty-one campers from more than 13 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the eight NBA/FIBA players and nine FIBA/NBA coaches participating in the camp, arrived Monday in San Juan, Puerto Rico for the third annual Basketball without Borders (BWB) Americas.

The basketball instructional camp features extensive community outreach and incorporates educational seminars addressing important social issues such as HIV/AIDS prevention and education. Upon arrival all participants and NBA/FIBA players and coaches received a Nike goodie bag complete with sneakers, sports gear, BWB uniforms and laundry bags.
