MISSION STATEMENT
The Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation's goal is to assist nonprofit community organizations based on need. With the Foundation's focus on the use of sports to promote education, teamwork and self-esteem among Los Angeles area youth, our fundraising directly supports these initiatives by providing financial assistance to children and local youth programs. The Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation is a 501(c)(3).

GRANT APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Organizations must send in a written request to be reviewed. Reviews are done quarterly with the following deadlines: March 15, June 15, Sept. 15 and Dec. 15. An organization may submit only one application in a calendar year. The Board then decides which group(s) will then receive funding or a donation.

We encourage you to send in your request. Please include any important information, pictures, etc that might be helpful in making our decision. Please enclose a copy of your organization's IRS tax exempt letter showing the tax ID number.

Lakers Youth Foundation and Jersey Mike's Subs Team Up for Month of Giving
During the month of March, Jersey Mike's Subs restaurants throughout Southern California participated in a "Month of Giving" fundraising campaign to benefit the Lakers Youth Foundation. Customers who made a $5 donation received Jersey Mike's branded Silly Bandz along with a coupon for free chips and a drink. Dr. Buss' Poker Tournament
Earlier this month, Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss hosted a celebrity poker tournament at the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens for the benefit of the Smile Train, the world's largest cleft charity. For a donation of $250, fans played poker with Lakers celebrity players, including Dr. Buss and Spero Dedes. Each player had a chance to win a share of over $25,000 in prizes.
