2004-05 Recap: Quinton Ross
NBA.com: Quinton Ross Player Profile

|

Quinton Ross puts in the work that makes a team successful. The rangy SMU grad was an integral part to LA's nine game improvement during his rookie campaign last season . His long arms frustrated defenders and his jumper became more reliable as the year progressed. "[Quinton is] a very good defender," Dunleavy remarked last season. "Offensively, he's also playing within his self for us." This season, the LAC backcourt has improved considerably with the additions of Sam Cassell, Cuttino Mobley and Daniel Ewing, but there is still room in Mike Dunleavy's lineup for the hardworking Ross. He may not get the fan fare or acclaim, but his play will continue to pay dividends for Los Angeles.

Legendary broadcaster Ralph Lawler checks in with his preseason player predictions:
"He's a coach's dream. He plays defense. He's play selflessly. He works hard. He makes open shots. Next player, please."
Quinton Ross brings toughness, active defense and the ability to stick the open jumper to the 2005-06 Clippers. His role is an important one, but it doesn't necessarily translate to high fantasy stats. He's always in the defensive lanes and could give you a bump in steals as a backup, but Q won't loom large in many other categories. We know Ross will be key to many Clippers victories this year, but doubt the same will be true for your fantasy squad.
