  • OVERVIEW
Despite a preseason that has been less than favorable, Shaun Livingston is still poised for success in 2005-06. A stress reaction in his lower back has temporarily sidelined the second year point guard, but rest and rehab should bring the Peoria HS product back to electrifying form . Shaun closed out last season as the April Western Conference Rookie of the Month and now has one of the NBA best floor generals, Sam Cassell, as a teammate and mentor. Sam brings a wealth of knowledge to the LAC backcourt and is eager to show Livingston the tools of the trade. "I'm going to do what I always do," Cassell said this October. "I'm going to get everyone involved and get it going, and then Shaun is going to come in and keep us rolling, getting guys good shots. We're going to have the type of point-guard play most teams can't even dream about." So while Livingston's start to the season has been unfortunately delayed, we're still confident his second NBA campaign will be filled with even more incredible passes and fantastic finishes.

THE WORD FROM THE VOICE OF THE CLIPPERS
Legendary broadcaster Ralph Lawler checks in with his preseason player predictions:
"We saw just a glimpse of his brilliant promise in April when he was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month. He's a special talent and I can't wait to see his development this season."

    FANTASY OUTLOOK
While a preseason injury may have dampened the fantasy outlook for young Shaun, we still recommend having the 6-7 point guard on your squad before he rehabs his way back to the court. Livingston may be unselfish on the court , but he greedily racks up the roto points. Take this line, for example, from last March: 17 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, 1 block and only one turnover. Talk about a fantasy goldmine! Shaun has the rare ability to give you numbers in every category, and once he returns to the floor, look for him to develop even further under the tutelage of big-game player Sam Cassell.
