After dropping nearly 20 pounds this summer, you might not immediately recognize Elton Brand during warmups this season. Thanks to an intense endurance workout routine, Brand is entering 2005-06 with even more fire than usual. "Elton and I met for dinner early this summer and he had already been working out," remarked Coach Dunleavy at Training Camp. “He said that’s why he was determined to work hard during the summer because he said, ‘I can’t be the guy until I’m the guy who isn’t making mistakes.’" So while you may not recognize the pregame EB, once the game tips off, you'll see familiar blue-collar work from one of the league's premier power forwards. The Clippers' offseason additions of Cuttino Mobley, Sam Cassell, Walter McCarty and others will force opposing defenses to honor the LAC perimeter attack----and free up more room for Brand to operate down low. As a result, look for Elton to create problems for the rest of the league and excitment for the ClippersNation this season.

Legendary broadcaster Ralph Lawler checks in with his preseason player predictions:
"Elton is just entering his athletic prime and he's already regarded as one of the game's most consistent contributors. Write it down: he'll be right there around 20-points-10-rebounds and 2 blocked shots a game at season's end."
Do we really have to write this? I mean, he's a double-double machine and huge in the offensive rebounds, block and field goal percentage categories. He also entered training camp rock solid after an tough workout regimen this summer. Few players pile up the fantasy stats like Elton Brand, so If you don't know what EB can give your fantasy squad---you're in for a longgggg season.
